Through crochet, jewelry, and clothing, we aim to bridge cultural gaps, honor heritage, and, in the future, empower women artisans by sharing their handmade creations with a global audience.
About Us
Inity Orijahnal is a brand rooted in culture, creativity, and authentic Rastafarian expression. The journey began in 1998, during the early days of my loc journey—a time when dreadlocks were still rare in Toronto. I already knew how to crochet, I didn’t yet know how to make hats. After struggling to find tams that reflected my identity and realizing how limited and expensive the options were, I prayed for the skill to create my own.
Within weeks, that prayer was answered. I met someone who taught me how to crochet hats, opening the door to a new level of creativity. Soon after, I joined a small local business specializing in crochet hats and apparel, where I refined my craft and learned new techniques.
Two years later, confident in my skills and vision, I launched Inity, creating crochet tams and expanding into Rasta jewelry, clothing, and accessories. Each piece blends Rastafarian symbolism with Caribbean flair—colors, patterns, and cultural elements that reflect the heritage and stories of our people.
Inity Orijahnal was created to bridge the gap and bring awareness to the ancestral connection between Caribbean people and Africa, a connection fostered by the teachings and lifestyle of Rastafari. Reggae music, a core influence of the brand, has always been a tool to spread this message, share our roots, and celebrate culture.
Looking ahead, our larger vision is to empower women artisans in Africa and the Caribbean by sourcing and reselling their handmade products, creating jobs and economic opportunities while sharing their unique craftsmanship with the world.
